"Oh, I don't have time to meditate."
I hear this sentence a lot.
You make time for everything that matters to you in your life. Right?
Here's what you gain if you make meditation matter to you:
Do you know that the time you spend on "inner work" actually results in 7x more productivity of your "outer" time?
So let's say if you meditate as little as 10 minutes a day, you gain an extra 70 minutes of pure, creative, productive time afterwards.
Meditation trains your mind. It quiets down the rush of millions of thoughts racing in your head. It tames any thoughts of fear, stress, anxiety you may have. It washes away the problems cluttering your mind. In this empty, clear, focused space you create during your meditation, you become centered and aligned with your true self. You feel calm, ease, joy, peace and love.
Isn't that an amazing space to be in?
When you have a relaxed mind, you gain peace of mind.
Your concentration improves.Your intuition awakens
You hear the messages your inner voice has been trying to whisper to you all along.
Meditation is an amazing inner journey for self-discovery. It gives us the tool to create our own inner peace and joyfulness regardless of our circumstances and conditions. A very powerful tool to create our freedom:)
"How should I meditate?"- you may ask.
Find a quiet space. Sit down with your back straight and close your eyes. Relax your body, breathe. Watch your breathing. Breathe in, breathe out.
Sounds easy, right?
Meditation requires a regular practice though. The more you practice, the easier it gets. When you learn to concentrate on one thing, that's when letting go of thoughts and taming the "monkey mind" get easier.
To deepen your practice, you can join a meditation group or go to a yoga class. You can choose the type of meditation you prefer: Vipassana, Zen, Transcendental, Kundalini, Mindfulness, Guided Meditation etc... You can learn it from books, from audios. You can chant mantras, use candles, meditation pillow, essential oil, music.
As you wish.
What really important is that YOU DO IT. Regularly. Every day.
I usually meditate 10-30 minutes twice a day.
I always feel how smoothly and more productively the day unfolds when I silence my mind through my meditation and consciously set my intentions for the day. Ideas and solutions come to me much more easily and I feel more inspired, much calmer and more organized throughout the day.
Even if you do it just for a few minutes. Pause, close your eyes, breathe slowly and quiet your mind.
You can do this wherever you are, whatever you do.
Meditation can happen on your walk, on a bench, on your run, while you're cooking in the kitchen etc...
In the morning when I stand under the shower, I love to close my eyes and feel the water on my skin as it cleanses my body. I concentrate on the water and imagine that it washes away all of my negative thoughts. My fears, worries and self-doubts simply go down the drain. So I can start my day with a clean slate, feeling totally refreshed, energized and recharged with positive vibes. This "shower meditation" requires only a couple of minutes and yet so empowering.
